I have known Rick for a few years, and always look forward to seeing him at the Golf Business Network summits and the PGA Merchandise Show. Rick is also a HUGE Tiger Woods fan, so we never run out of things to talk about. Rick is also obsessed with the growth of the game, and is a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Teacher. His passion for the game, and for junior golf is obvious, and just in short conversation with Rick you can appreciate and respect his focus on the game of golf. The Golf Industry: A Conversation With Ricky Potts

As many of you know, I am very passionate about golf. It is the only sport I watch on TV, and the only sport I play on a regular basis. I played in high school and in college, and have never enjoyed the game more than I do today. I am also passionate about social media and the ability to communicate and to market yourself and a business online. Because of this, I was recently asked to speak about social media and how it is impacting the golf industry. I am the one usually doing the interviews on my blog, but this time I was asked to be featured in an issue of Hotelier Indonesia. I jumped at the chance, and sat down with Bill Healey for the interview. What follows is what you will find in the latest issue of the magazine. Artist Interview: 1-on-1 with Dashius Clay

Twitter is amazing. I have met so many people on there. People that don’t “get” Twitter need to create an account and try it out. I met Dashius Clay on Twitter, and was immediately impressed with his level of engagement and more importantly his music. He has a wide range of sounds from rap to electronic dance music. His work is great, and I love his videos. Oh, and his lyrics. Styles like this make me think about David Correy, a performer who has coined his genre as “urban rock”.

NFL Legend Junior Seau Found Dead

I don’t watch football, but I know the name Junior Seau. He was big when I was in high school and college, and I remember hearing his name on TV. I used to watch sports, when I was in school, but the older I get the less I care about professional sports. I watch golf, and that is about it. I also have a theory that all professional sports are rigged. Anyway, I know this is old news but Junior Seau was found dead yesterday in his California home. Further details point to suicide.

The 911 Memorial: Past, Present & Future

I am learning as I go through this thing too. For instance, I had no idea who built the Twin Towers. It was designed by Minoru Yamasaki in the early 1960s. They broke ground on August 5, 1966 with the North Tower being completed in December of 1972 and the South Tower wrapping up in July of 1973. They were the tallest buildings in the world at the time. I also didn’t know about the “bathtub” they had to build when building the two towers. According to the app:

A few weeks ago, these guys followed me on Twitter. I sent them a reply, and we started talking about music, the Windy City, and their awesome sound. I had no idea they were coming to Indy for a show… then I agreed to live blog Indy Meets Windy 2, a showcase of Indianapolis and Chicago bands here in the Circle City. It is actually a great concept, featuring two bands from Chicago. Once these bands play down here, the Indy bands head to Chicago for a show.

Ling Valentine: Want a cheap new lease car?

A few weeks ago, I was just surfing the web and I found the worst website in the world. I’m serious, this website has won awards for being the worst website out there. Just spend a few minutes on the site, and you will see what I mean. It is so bad, it’s good. I liked it so much, I started to research the company and eventually found myself in the live chat. Before I knew it, I was chatting with Ling Valentine. Ling is a Chinese immigrant living in the UK and from the looks of it, she is doing well. On her Twitter page, she says, “I speak Chinglish, own the “BEST” website in the world. I’m real, reply and bite. Cars etc.” From emails with Ling, that pretty much sums it up. Welcome to Crooked Stick Golf Club: Tony Pancake Interview

Crooked Stick Golf Club might be one of the best golf courses in the country. Located in Carmel, Indiana this course will host the 2012 BMW Championship. The course has hosted several PGA, LPGA, and amateur events in the past as well. John Daly knows this course having won the 1991 PGA Championship here. Since they have hosted the U.S. Women’s Open, the Solheim Cup, and the U.S. Senior Open. Crooked Stick first opened in 1964, and was designed by Pete and Alive Dye.
