Great stuff, Ricky.

I must say, I agree with Harrison. Tiger needs golf, and golf needs Tiger. I hope he and his family get through this. Same thing I'd wish for anyone else going through a similar situation.

I am a huge golf fan, and a Tiger fan. I am not, however, one to judge anyone. He was not my role model, although I wish I had 1/1000th of the golf skills he possesses standing over a 5' putt on a miniature golf course, with a red plastic ball. :-) Tiger owes me nothing - there will be no sanctimonious talk from me.

I can't wait for Tiger to come back. I can't wait to be watching the guy in the red shirt, walking up the fairway on Sunday.

With all that said. I've enjoyed watching a few others this year. Ogilvy, Palmer, Haas, Crane, Stricker, Johnson, to name a few. One of my new favorites, Bubba Watson. David Duval getting a half-mil, and a T2nd at the AT&T. John Daly making a cut, and in T17, going in to the final round of the Mayakoba Classic. Like I said - still fun. But, hurry back Tiger!

I think this press conference could be used as a turning point in Tigers life, but I doubt it will. I have a feeling the image his handlers have conveyed of him to the public led in part to extra stress since he isnt that guy and never has been. For those who aren't aware of the "real" Tiger check out this 1997 article http://bit.ly/9vHK93 Now the real Tiger wasn't a bad guy then, he was single. He has made some poor choices in how he handled his marriage for sure. But if someone is how they are portrayed in that article wouldn't it be hard to live sort of a double life in public? I say that stress, along with the stress of his fathers health issues, led to a lot of his issues. He could use this press conference to open up, let us see under the curtain. He may not get to buy his 13th yacht, and couldn't call it Privacy, but he could walk in his own shoes daily and feel more comfortable. He will come out with a semi canned response. Answer a few questions honestly and heartfelt like he always does and announce he will play golf in the future. Without knowing his practice schedule recently (I doubt it was extensive) I would assume he wont come back for awhile and would never debut at The Masters. He wont come back until he is sure his game is in form and he can win (he can still win right now probably) I wish the guy all the best and have never had any connection to him on any level other than golf so as Harrison said as a fan of golf the sport needs him and he needs the sport, the place where he is most comfortable.

Nicely done Ricky. I am not a fan of golf but I imagine he will discuss his golf career and make a brief statement about his being sorry to his family and the sport. I would still like to know why, if his wife was beating him or threatening to do so that she was not charged. What if Tiger has been in an abusive marriage and his actions were symptoms of that--it happens. Cheating is never good and neither is domestic abuse.

Tiger is going to be just fine professionally. He is the greatest golfer on the planet, and in my opinion, of all time.

There are very few people who could ever fully understand the pressures and temptations that a person like Tiger faces day to day. Fame and fortune do not automatically solve problems. So I have pushed aside any negative energy of wanting to judge his morals, and simply hope that Tiger and his family are finding the best solutions for working through all of this.

The bottom line is this: Tiger needs golf, and golf needs Tiger. As a fan of the sport, I want to see him on the course!

LOVE IT!

He should just say that he was living by his main sponsor's motto: "Just Do It".

Good luck to Tiger Woods. I'm not so fond of what he did, but at least he's man enough to finally face the media.

I'm not a golf fan so I'm not going to speculate on that aspect of it but I'm kind of tired of hearing about the whole situation in general. I mean come on, we get it, he supposedly had relations with all these women. Surely there is something else that we can hear about on the news that is more interesting and important.
