I agree with most of it. But just so you know de Wright Brothers weren't the first ones to fly a plane. The first was the french Santos Dummond, who flew around the Eiffel Tower by the plane's own power, with hundreds of expectators UNLIKE the Wright Brothers, whose "plane" was impulsed by a catapult and then glided... that's not flying... Planes were modeled after Leonardo's (DaVInci, not DiCaprio) plane model. Do your research, I did mine.

Can't agree with you more. The media has only been driven by sensationalism of incidents.

Air travel is statiticaly safer than almost any other mode of travel as you have stated. Although the news media has and always will post/air anything grab the attention of everyone especially in a negative way. Take a step back at the last time you heard something positive from the media about the IRAQ war. Um we don't hear about that but you talk to the soldiers that have served and they will tell you it has gotten better but the media has to tell us oh no another inocent civialian has been killed or another soldier has lost there life.

I think it's basically the scale of the accident. If a car crash killed 100 people all at once like a plane crash does, it would be national news, too.

As it stands, as tragic as the vehicle fatalities are, national news couldn't cover them all (and maintain viewers).

Regardless, I think most news is pretty worthless. It's so repetitive probably just because people are busy these days, so they may have a person's attention for 5-10 minutes at a time - it makes sense for them to pack and re-pack the information... it's business.
